Colonels Fall Again to Stonington

Boys drop rematch in another close contest

When the Ledyard High School boys' basketball team met Stonington in December, the Colonels fell by a bucket in overtime. Friday night was another nail-biter, with a similar result.

In a foul-fest of a game (45 fouls committed) that was played in Stonington before a packed gym, the Bears again prevailed, 63-59. The Colonels were plagued by turnovers, but in the end it came down to making those free throws. Stonington won that battle, and so won the game.

Stonington won their ninth straight, improving to 11-3. The Colonels are 10-4, but have already qualified for the post season tournament.
