Student Dedicates Toy Drive to Dad in Marines [Video]
Third-Grader Samantha Lajoie Organized Toys For Tots Drive at Gales Ferry School
As a member of the U.S. Marines, Patrick Lajoie has helped with Toys for Tots Drives in past years. But this year he is serving in Afghanistan, so his third-grade daughter Samantha helped make and distrubute flyers at Gales Ferry School.
Two collection boxes were set up at the school, and soon they were brimming with toys that will be distributed this week at Lajoie's unit in Providence.
"That's my girl," said Kristen Lajoie of her daughter, who was recognized for her efforts Friday at the December All School Meeting at Gales Ferry School.

Tom Callinan, Connecticut's first State Troubadour and former Marine, performed a song written for the service's Toys for Tots drive.
