Get Started By Visiting A Local Farm

Learn how to put food by that you have grown yourself or purchased at a local farm.

A lot of people seem to give up trying to eat good, clean food when they see how much it costs.

Trick is to start small, perhaps that Sunday roast beef or chicken dinner could be made with everything purchased at a farm market or at a local farm.

The point is to START. Once you start and you discover just how much better local and fresh really is you will want to do more “Old-Fashioned” meals.

What has happened to us is that we have created this nasty food thing ourselves, we have turned into people who don’t have time, don’t want to make time, would rather play than spend time putting food by, and perhaps have the “I don’t want to know what’s in my food” attitude.

Now the public is waking up, I have seen the change over the past 3 years as more and more people actually ASK QUESTIONS about what it in their food. Now if we can all just take it a step further by teaching people the “Old Fashioned” way of putting food by, canning, freezing, drying, root cellar etc.

To those who don’t want to know and who feel that it doesn’t make any difference ask yourself why the health care issue in the country is so out of whack, it is because of what we eat. Food is killing us, making us fat, giving us diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer’s, autism, and so many more illnesses that it has become a epidemic.

So why not start today, find a local farm and get out there to buy local produce in season, if it isn’t in season WAIT until it is. When it is, buy extra and can it, freeze it, dry it.

Do you know that old saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away?” Well it’s true, apple cider vinegar is a wonder drug, we mix 4 cups of apple cider with ½ cup “Braggs” apple cider vinegar and ¼ cup LOCAL honey and we drink a double shot every day.

Between that and a glass of raw milk a day we are in pretty good health.

Here are a couple of stories about apple cider vinegar.

Working as a Project Manager for a local grocery store I had one of my employees come to me and relate this to me.

“You are an old farmer surely you have some old fashioned remedy that can help my dog. The vet says he has two weeks to live due to cancer, he is sickly looking, can’t control his bowels can you help him?”

“Sure,” says me, “give him a egg a day and a shot of apple cider vinegar in his water”.

The dog did a 180 and is a short time his lumps has gone down, his bowels were fine and no one could tell which of her dogs were sick. Her dog lived well over a year more.

One year we lost 600 baby chicks due to a chicken disease caused by damp cold and me refusing to feed medicated grain. I called a friend who said to put apple cider vinegar in the water of all our critters, it works and we always fill the water vessels with clean water and ACV.

Cheers,

Craig
